Each Wednesday afternoon from June through September, the Camas Farmers Market offers a bounty of local produce and products in a fun and festive community market. In addition to freshly harvested seasonal fruits and vegetables, you’ll also enjoy live music, activities for the kids, healthy living information and delicious hot food vendors. 

Recreationalists will love it here as well! Hike, bike, kayak or stand up paddleboard at the nearby Lacamas Lake and revel in the natural surroundings that are preserved here. Our local downtown bike shop has bikes to rent and can help you start your biking adventure and kayaks and paddleboards can be rented seasonally at the lake. We also have a premier public golf course just 10 minutes from downtown for all the golf lovers out there.

Nestled on the western slope of the great Cascade mountains and the gateway of the Columbia River Gorge, lies the City of Washougal­­—the perfect place for an adventure in history, nature and food!

Discover the fascinating history as you stroll through the downtown streets. Incorporated in 1908, Washougal was the site of some of the very earliest American settlers in the Washington Territory, including Lewis and Clark who camped here along the shores of the Columbia River. Take in Downtown Washougal sights any time of the year with a self-guided tour of over 50 installations of public art, ranging from whimsical to historic (maps available at the museum). No visit to Washougal would be complete without a stop and shop at the landmark that’s been weaving its way into our hearts for the last 112 years, Pendleton Woolen Mills Outlet Store. And, experience several seasonal events hosted in Reflection Plaza—including the Washougal Art and Music Festival in the summer, the Scary Run in the fall, and the Lighted Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting in winter. 

Wander through the Pedestrian Tunnel that runs beneath State Route 14 to connect downtown Pendelton Way with spectacular views of the Columbia River and Mt. Hood. From here, you can immerse yourself in nature at one of the nearby parks or trails, such as Captain William Clark Park at Cottonwood Beach, Washougal Waterfront Trail, Lewis & Clark Heritage Trail, or Mountain View Trail in the Steigerwald Lake National Wildlife Refuge.
