Bow-Edison - Visit Skagit Valley - North Cascades National Park to Farmlands to Salish Sea

Bow-Edison

The Bow-Edison area, including Bayview and Samish Island, is nestled at the foothills of Blanchard Mountain just off of scenic Chuckanut Drive and follows the Salish Sea to Padilla Bay. Blanchard Mountain is the only place along the coast where the Cascades connect to saltwater. It is the ultimate of green belts: a beloved community for recreation, respite, and wildness.

Established in 1869, Edison soon became a logging and agricultural center. Located just off Chuckanut at the Bow Junction, Edison remains an area hub with its unique shops, art galleries, and eating establishments. Edison is now on the Skagit Farm to Pint Ale Trail with the opening of the farm-to-table Terramar Brewery and Distillery.

Edison WA

Edison_WA_Edison sits in the heart of a rich agricultural area and is one of many communities that thrived through the first half of the century and that have since melded into the region now known as Bow-Edison. As you explore this area keep an eye out for vestiges of bygone eras, visible in the architecture, old pilings, dikes & barns. Not only is Edison situated in the beautiful Samish delta but it enjoys views of Mt. Baker, Samish Bay, and the San Juan Islands.
